24hr Letter Writing Marathon success

To mark World Cancer Day 2025, we held an online Letter Writing Marathon for 24hrs. It was a first for us; a crazy idea that gathered momentum and before we knew it we were live and people were joining us online from around the world.

To say it was a success feels like an understatement. It’ll certainly be featuring in our calendar of events for next year, so watch this space! The response we’ve had to it - before, during and after - has been wonderful. Here’s some of the feedback we’ve had…

The event was hosted (and co-hosted) by our founders, Alison and Brian, some of our Trustees - Liz, Lucy, Nicholas and Nathan - and many of our writers from around the world. Without this group of dedicated people, it wouldn’t have been possible.

We were delighted to have companies supporting the event too, by sponsoring an hour of the marathon - providing much-needed funds to buy stamps to send all the letters that were generated during (and after) the marathon. 800 letters and counting…

That’s 800 people who will feel less alone as they face cancer.
