Trustee walks 1,000 miles to raise money for us

We’re delighted to announce that our Trustee, Nicholas Lee, has completed his 1,000 mile challenge for us, finishing with his final steps being made into the From Me to You Trustee meeting in London on 21st March 2024!

Nicholas took on the walking challenge for us after a good friend of his, Sue, was diagnosed with cancer. Nicholas is a keen writer and is an advocate for the benefits of keeping the connection and communication open with those feeling isolated because of cancer.

Nicholas’ challenge has raised £1,750 for our work and he has asked that some of the funds generated are used to fund our book ‘From Me, To You’ to be given out in hospitals and cancer centres to patients who could benefit from reading it. This is a huge boost to our Donate A Book appeal - and has enabled hundreds of people to enjoy our book, free of charge.

Last year Nicholas met with Clare Stokes from the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven to hand over a box of our books for their patient packages. Clare says that the books are a welcomed treat for patients to read.
