One man, two marathons = all for us!
From Me to You volunteer, Ben, who reads and logs all the electronic letters we receive, decided that he wanted to really challenge himself in a bid to raise funds for our work.
Ben is taking on both Paris and London Marathons this Spring, which take place just two weeks apart. We think we can safely say that completing two marathons in two different countries, two weeks apart might just tick the ‘challenge’ box!
Our small charity is reliant on our team of brilliant volunteers, like Ben, who keep the cogs turning and the letters going out to those who need them. And it’s always lovely when they want to do their bit to help us raise funds too. Thank you Ben!
Ben’s set up a Just Giving page. If you’d like to support his crazy challenge by donating a few pounds, he (and we) would be really grateful.
Because of Ben - and our other fabulous volunteers - we were able to process over 13,000 letters last year (that’s 3,000 more than normal!) - meaning 13,000 days brightened. Every letter makes a huge impact to the person who receives it and we are committed to sending everyone who requests a letter, one in the post. But letters all need stamps, and so Ben’s fundraising is vital to us keeping this commitment.
If you’ve been inspired by Ben’s challenge, or want to get involved in fundraising for us without having to run over 50 miles in a fortnight, we’d love to hear from you. From hosting one of our From Me to Brew events, to organising something you enjoy; it all makes a huge difference to our work.
